Decided to purchase the 16GB Motoactv product from Amazon.com - seems to me unfair that here in the U.K. we are only currently being offered the 8GB model when for the same price you can get the 16GB Motoactv.This product is truly a motivational piece of technology to support anyone who is focused on maximising their exercise activities. However, this is a serious piece of kit and needs some understanding and patience to get the maximum from the product. I purchased a Fitbit Ultra Wireless Activity Plus Sleep Tracker and if you simply want the Best plug-n-play product to help you 'exercise' and lose, maintain, or gain weight Fitbit is for you!! 11 out of 10 for Fitbit! If on the other hand you are a sports type of exercise person and you love to listen to music and love to get loads of metrics when you work out Motoactv is for you!In essence you have a tiny GPS device that can also take data from ANT + data loggers and seamlessly connects to your music collection - I won't say more because the Motoactv website tells it better than I can.Just a couple of points .... If you do buy the 16GB model from amazon.com you will pay less for the device however, swift delivery and customs duty will mean you pay the same price as you would if you purchase the 8GB UK model. The U.S. model does not come with a 'wrist watch' strap this I had to buy via amazon.com too so a few more pounds spent. However, as I have now downloaded lots of maps from around the world and added a large amount of music from my iTunes collection I'm please I have the 16GB model because I have used just over 9GB of storage.I additionally purchased the Motorola SF600 wireless sports headphone and these are FANTASTIC! No wires, excellent battery life and superb sound quality.I also purchased the GARMIN Other accessories - Foot pod (accelerometer) and this works seamlessly with the Motoactv as does the Motorola Motoactv Heart Rate Monitor Chest StrapMy advise would be to seriously consider Motoactv - I think you will be delighted if you make a purchase.

I read several reviews before I purchased this item I received it today but sadly so far the experience is NULLFirstly do not buy from this seller the product you will get is a USA version so only US maps loaded and only US based wall charger no biggy if you get the additional accessory kit it will have a UK charger or use a universal adapter.From the reviews people said it takes 10 minutes to set up think again windows 7 64 bit with all it's security aaarggghhh. User friendly desktop app NO everything is done via web so if you are going away and end up somewhere without an internet connection you will have to wait until you get back to gloat over your exercise routine figures but none the less it took me three attempts re-installing the application to get wi-fi working even resetting the watch to defaults. To restart the original setup but then I finally got onto the site trying to install the correct maps but no go.Tried to speak to Motorola support online regarding the maps who advised me to speak to UK online support the UK chat line they advised me to update the maps via the MOTOACTV website but I advised them that this does not work it has been down for two months based on Forum entries, he then contacted the IT department and they promised to have it back up in the next week 06/09/2012 so until then I cannot use the track or map feature, when I asked him if they as support can mail the maps he said that is not allowed not exactly customer satisfaction. Some guys have found a work around but you need a droid based phone and some apps access to Google and then do some nifty poking about.The sound from the music player was excellent I used the supplied headphones the cords are a bit short so will look for a replacement, there are 22 songs included. Most from bands I have never heard of but ok none the less.Used it for the first time tonight without the music player after a 1H30 walk battery was down 30% but when I logged back into the MOTOACTV website the watch had already uploaded my workout cool.The display is clear even in the dark pairing it with the matched Motorola heart monitor was a breeze but you have to wear the heart rate monitor so it is on to enable the pairing the heart rate monitor itself would be a tight fit for anyone above 110KG I am 110KG looking to loose a few and it is a tight fit.

Bought this product at £250 in January (admittedly not from Amazon, sorry!) but nine months later Motorola have killed it. Fitness sync from USB has failed all week, GPS has failed on runs, resulting in unreliable stats... I can no longer sign into the forum to ask for help, suggesting that Motorola have effectively locked us all out, if this is true for other customers. If there are any motoactv victims lurking around here, could you tell me where to go to find help/ people usually on the fourm? Thanks!Such a shame this niche product (it is the only fitness tracker with an MP3 player on the market) was not sufficiently supported by the people who created it. Could have been a great product (and indeed, when it was working it was!)
