4In the context of cycling, it's pretty good
By Mr. Craig Hume
I love it. Great battery life, good accuracy, easy to use. Good for spontaneous cycles into the unknown with route back and route to 'home' features. The software is completely pants so I wouldn't bother with it aside from the online version - useful to check out your route on google maps and that's about it. I find the waypoint feature really handy, though the only easy way to add new ones to to actually be there. Other negative it that you really need to buy an SD map or you only get the UK A and M roads. Overall I definitely recommend it if you have the spare cash and a annoying habit of getting lost otherwise.

3Good, but not perfect
By Dan J W
I wanted a GPS device to help me explore roads on my bike - I seem to spend a lot of my time standing at crossroads with a map in my hand. It has been good at helping me do that but not perfect. It is really designed to log your route and not to guide you, so getting it to navigate takes a little fiddling at the beginning. Get a City Navigator map (not a topo) and then plan your routes on a PC. I use bikehike.co.uk for the important reason that it allows me to export GPXX files, which don't have the 100 waypoint limit, which is a bizarre and arbitrary limit for normal GPX files. The Edge will then guide you along the route, beeping to warn you of upcoming junctions and generally keeping you on track. It is slightly buggy, starts slowly and occasionally just gets so confused it closes down - but it has still allowed me to plan long rides in areas I didn't know and get there and back safely. It has also admirably survived a monstrous downpour! All in all, a good product but I do occasionally call it names...

4Always buy the maps!
By Tancredi
Not quiet the finished article , but when loaded with the appropriate maps,(the base map is worse than useless) its a great navigation tool. The plus points, as mentioned above are the battery life, the easy of fitting to the bike and the accuracy. You can insert a new waypoint without actually goung there if you have the lat/ long co ordinates as there is the facility to change the details of any waypoint.Shame you cant plan a route as you can on the Quest, but its the best bike navigator/ speedo/ altimeter etc!
