I owned this helmet last year, i was impressed by the ease of the flipfront as i wear specs. the bluetooth works well and is loud up to about 80mph then it gets drowned out by wind noise. After about a month the wire came off the speaker and i soldered it back on and it was fine, a month or so later the other side lost a wire so i re-soldered all connections and it worked excellently. I would recommend this helmet only if you can solder, however i was involved in an accident where i came off at 60mph the helmet was destroyed but my head was fine. well done Viper i am impressed.

Having recently purchased the Viper RSV 131 in a nut shell it is the worst helmet I have ever owned. It is very poorly constructed, the Bluetooth isn't really that clever in my opinion and useless at speeds over 20mph. It didn't help that after trying to pair this to my phone via Bluetooth that it took a dozen attempts, and although it did pair up the microphone did not work. On contacting the shop, as there was a note in the box saying phone if you have any problems, it seemed apparent I was not the first to ring about problems with this helmet and was told quite gruffly they are all tested prior to dispatch. The shop were no help all they did was give me a helpline number which is an experience in itself, but followed all instructions to the letter four times in total, still no mic? But the shop assured me they were tested. I decided to take the helmet back to the shop over 100 mile round trip, but would rather speak to them face to face. They took the helmet into a backroom, appeared 10 minutes later and told me it was a faulty mic. So to me that kind of proves they were not tested prior to dispatch. So I took it home paired it to my phone all worked fine while testing in the garden, but the proof would be in the riding. Well the wind noise is nye on unbearable after 40mph. Anyone thinking of buying one do your homework, and if you read a bad review take that on board, if you buy it like me I guarantee you will want shot of it like me. There is a reason after all why some helmets are cheap, this is one of them.

Hi All,I bought this helmet on the 20th April 2011, I use it approximately 3 times per week.In July, the stitching on the straps has come undone after such a short period of time, which I would not have expected. I have sent an email to Nightingales back in July but up to now I still waiting for an answer.RegardsCarmine
